A visual... is always helpful
By clicking on the map under "Map of Alaska:", it will enlargen (in another window/tab). I am located in Bethel, which is in the south-western corner of the state; Anchorage (the largest city) and Fairbanks are located more in the central/southern part of the state; and Juneau (the capital city) is located in the south-eastern corner of the state, it actually is on the strip of land that borders Canada.
The other map is a small Google map that shows a more detailed look at my the town. I live on 1st Ave, down by the river; the school is on 4th Ave. You can zoom in and out, change the view--just as you can on Google!
